What a week…….

It has been an interesting week…. extremely busy with last minute Christmas order and countless shoots….

It is all start with a shoot at East Coast Park which started an hour later than schedule and after 20 minutes of shoot, it started pouring…

Follow by more shoots throughout the weeks and countless hours spent on retouching to fulfill the rush order…

The highlight of the week is to cover a baptism ceremony in Fullerton Hotel…

Gorgeous interior, interesting event as well as very special people…. Everywhere you see is full of opportunity… and the balcony view was absolutely gorgeous…

The week ended with a wedding shoot in Grand Capthorne Hotel…. and the view from the couple’s suite is simply irresistible…

For the first time for the last 10 months, my arms feel numb from lifting all the heavy equipment to get the shots and retouching… we thought August was busy….

We thank all our clients who trusted us for recording some of the most wonderful moments of their life… truly enjoy myself this week, meeting lots of interesting people and visited some of the nicest places in Singapore.

Things we do…..

We thought to share some of our thoughts and things we do that differentiate our service…..

Most of our clients worry about their home being messy and too small for photo shoot. So I thought well, its time for us to show how we do things…..

This is probably a messy sofa to most people’s standard.

This is what we see as a photographer….

We also spend time on the retouching (post processing) to make sure you are getting the best of our work.

These image shows how little distraction and not well expose picture will ruin the shots….

Well expose with distraction removed as well as putting attention to the subject. All you see is subject…

~~~~~~ Grace & Kenneth ~~~~~~~~
We love this image of Grace Young and Kenneth.
We spent 10-15 minutes for the session. Most of the time was spent talking to Kenneth and arranging the location for the shoot.
To create this natural and timeless image, we have moved a few of the picture frame from beneath the lamp and move the classic leather chair closer to the lamp at the back so they form an unity. and tell a story.
We love the warmth of the tungsten lighting and fill in flash to put emphasis on the subjects…
All above preparation means nothing if we could not get the most natural shots of them. What makes this image works for us is the natural laughter and connection which shows the closeness of the two.
Photography, Economy and LOVE…..
It has been a while since our last post…
Economic downturn seems to make a lot of people realise that that the one thing which matters in this world is Family’s Love….
We are glad that our booking is ever increasing in this difficult time and we are glad that people are turning their focus on their family nowadays.
At Tomato Photo, we spend a lot of time researching, improving our service, our image, and the whole experience. It will always start with a friendly email, a relax shoot, intense post processing and attention to detail in our deliverables.
What we offer is beyond “just another” photo session… we create artwork for you to enjoy for years to come and perhaps something that you may pass down for generations?
At Tomato Photo, we employ no discount policy because we do not compromise our work. Also we do not wish to offend anyone by having double standard in pricing as well as our quality of work.
The thing is, with discount, it is almost like asking our graphic designer to do half the job and giving us the design for TOMATO without the PHOTO… somewhat like asking us to just click… without putting heart and soul to feel and explore possibility to capture the special moments for our clients.
In business, it is difficult to say no to a commission work… however, deep down it is harder to blind ourselves by producing substandard work for our clients by cutting corners due to reduced price.
For many of our clients who understand why we are in this line of work, it is not because of just making a living, but it is a passion which keeps us going.
We thank you and are grateful to hundreds of our clients who are always behind us, supporting and pushing us for more.
We are also feel that we are unable to source a lot of better products locally to increase the whole Tomato Photo experience. We have been searching high and low and unfortunately, we need to import majority of our quality deliverables from overseas.
2009 will be a very interesting year as there will be a lot of changes at Tomato Photo…. for better of course.
Last but not least, no matter how things change, the one thing that do not change is “love”.
*thanks for giving us the permission to post this imageThank you for giving us the opportunity to capture the most beautiful things in this world….
Newborn – TWINS…..
Finally have time to sit down and post an interesting photo shoot of a pair of newborn girls.. At such an early age, they have exhibited very different personality and preferences. As a photographer as well as a father, it is challenging to handle 1 newborn, let alone two at the same time. Patience and Love is the key……
“let me tell u something funny”… “What?”
“The photographer is called Tomato Head”… “heeeee… Tomato?”
“Don’t sleep… let me tell u more….”
“Time to wake up sleepy head….” Let me pinch your bum little sister…
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Thank you~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
