Hart is incredibly professional and skilled in what he does. He made the entire photoshoot so much fun and comfortable for us as a family. Instead of just taking the usual posed photos, he gave us lots of different ideas on how to stand, pose, interact with one another, and use the surroundings.

Hart is professional and very dialed in on the setups and poses that will get you good outcomes. We managed to shoot 4 outfits in an hour, two I brought from home and two that were in the studio. There were about 20 of us. Ages spanned from 98 to 2, members of the family who wanted to play photographer, children who did not want to smile for the camera and tired members of the family from travelling. Yet, Hart took it all in his stride. He was easy going, warm and made everyone feel right at home. He took great natural shots of all of us and we absolutely love love love the photos.

Can grandparents & Elderly family members join?

Yes. The studio has step-free lift access, wheelchair-friendly facilities, sheltered drop-off and nearby parking.

Hart regularly photographs multi-generation families and adjusts the pace of the session around elderly family members where needed.

Can you photograph babies and young children?

Yes. Hart has photographed children from newborns through teenagers professionally for more than 18 years. Sessions are guided around children’s personalities rather than expecting them to sit still and smile on command.

How large of a family can you photograph?

Our studio comfortably accommodates multi-generation families of around 25 people, although the actual number depends on the mix of adults and children.

Families with more young children can often accommodate a larger group. Hart has photographed and carefully arranged a 36-people multi-generation family portrait in the studio.

If your family is larger than 25, let us know the number of adults and children and we’ll advise on the best arrangement.

Do you have experience photographing family members with special needs?

Hart has many years of experience photographing children and adults with special needs, including through his work with several charity organisations.

Most sessions are completed within approximately one hour.

Hart works efficiently, particularly with young children and elderly family members, so the experience doesn’t need to become unnecessarily long.

Who will photograph my family?

Every family photoshoot at Tomato Photo is personally photographed by Hart Tan. Tomato Photo does not rotate sessions between different photographers.

Do we need to know how to pose for our family photoshoot?

No. Hart guides your family throughout the session, including where to stand, how to position yourselves and what to do next. You don’t need to arrive knowing how to pose.

For classic family portraits, Hart carefully arranges the composition while keeping expressions natural and relaxed. This means everyone can be looking at the camera without the photograph feeling overly posed or unnatural.

He also creates more spontaneous photographs in between, giving you a balance of classic and natural family portraits.

How much does a family photoshoot in Singapore cost?
