Details – Home Newborn Photography

Little newborn baby is full of details. How they curl, how they fold, the little pouchy lips, their little feet are always interesting to me.

I tend to squeeze in a few shots showing those, however, my vision of newborn photography has always be to showcase how the baby looks like in the womb. An unique way to really preserve those moment that is unreproduceable and a precious way to remember that little baby of yours.

Big Sista – home newborn photography

The joy of having a little newborn always quite overwhelming.

For those who just had second child often find themselves bridging between the 2. In any newborn session, although the primary focus for the baby photography is on the newborn, it is as important to focus on their sibling.

a big sister who love her little baby brother.

I can only consider the shoot is done when I have a completeness in the variety of images that showcase everyone in the family.

Twins – Newborn Photography

Having twins are often the most exciting yet tiring time for parents. New parents usually can’t help be keep looking or ‘staring’ at their newborn babies, observing the new miracles that they have just brought to the world.

Being in the moment, observing their every moments, every strand of hair, noting their every sound they make….

While in the shoot, I just love how they connect as a twins…

We had a fantastic newborn photography session with Hart. We were rather apprehensive in the beginning and were expecting our little one to fuss and cry for the entire session. But Hart was a true baby whisperer and kept our baby (and the adults!) calm throughout the entire lighthearted session. Hart’s timeless photos of our little one and of our family is something we will cherish for a long time. It’s a shame Hart doesn’t provide babysitting services too!

Baby as Fine Art Imagery – A monocromatic experience

Was it flash? was it ambient/natural light? Is it matter? a few years back, I think it matters, but I was so wrong.

I have to bite my own tongue when I say natural light only for newborn photography and I religiously follow that because I thought, it was the only way… My bad. Learning the art of artificial lighting, open up possibility on how the images can be captured. A common mis-conception is the flash would “harm” the baby. Knowing how to “light” the subject correctly and effectively makes a world of different. I prefer to create light that resemble natural light. soft, diffuse and non-directional.

As I learn about the light, the “highlight” create excitement, the “Mid-Tone” create smooth and comfort to the heart and shadow reveal the mystery. I love the drama that I can consistently created with artificial lighting as natural light may not occurs at the right time nor the right angle.
