Best Location – Home – Family Photo Shoot Singapore

Great images for your family photography session often happen right at your home.

Client usually worry that their home isn’t suitable for the session… I started my career as Interior Photographer and I have photographed thousands of homes and the aim is to make the space looks beautiful as possible. Naturally, I understand how to get the best angle for your home.

It is the essence of a person that I portray in my quest to preserve memories for my clients. Our physical outlook will change by time, but the essence of who we are remains… So it you wonder why my picture looks different… what you are looking at is the person based on my interpretation.

As a Master Photographer, I get 95% of what I need in the camera, leaving 5% of work in photoshop. Children often scratch their face, bump on their head, dirt on the shirt, etc… these are the 5% that I do in editing process. As I manage the shoot to edit to archival myself, there is a continuity and consistency for every single shoot.

I have photographed Melanie & family for many times over the years.

The challenge was to tell a story for this little girl and capture who she is, her “position” in the family… but of course, getting the tweens to smile naturally… last but not least, beautiful family photography right at their home.

I will guide your family through the whole process so you know you always get the best from each shoot.

Like to do one for your family too? contact us today.

Home Maternity Photography @ Joo Chiat

I start venturing out to people’s home to do the maternity photography session, i think it allows for personalised images being created just for the couple.

In the past, lighting was big and cumbersome but things changed, with more and more compact professional lighting that accept variety of light modifiers that used to be only available for studio space, it makes me wonder if studio photography might be a thing in the past… Well, time will tell.

I am absolutely delighted to be able to shoot at one of the house around the corner from me which has win a major architectural award for the design. Coming from Interior and Architectural Photography background, I love to blend the two together as an addition to portrait setting.

I bought along 2x Einstein 640 plus a Profoto AcuteB2 600W and one large softbox, One medium softbox, one strip light as well as the beauty dish that allow me to create images that I had in my mind. The softboxes can be set up within minutes so there is very little time needed. To top if off, I will also bring black backdrop to do some “studio’ look images.

Here are some images I took on the day…

Baby Milestone Photography – 6-9 Months Sitters Baby Photoshoot

Baby Milestone Photography – What Is it?

Baby photoshoots that involve babies around 6-9 months old are fun to do. It is around this time when baby reach their sitting up milestone.

They seem to be in a stage where their personality is fully form; yet not being shape by world. They explore the world around them and as they develop, they reach their milestones at their own pace.

6-9 Months Sitters Baby Milestone

Their first milestones would be to be able to roll over by themselves and be on their tummy around 3 months. Liftling their head thereafter.

Around the 6-9 months mark, the baby tend to be able to sit up independently.

It doesn’t stop there!

They’ll move on to moving around by crawling on all fours, on 3’s or they belong to the bump shifters group.

They are happy to do what they are happy to do and very intrigued with what’s around them. They are just a pure joy to work with and Love it…

Why Do Baby Milestone Photography?

The baby grows so fast and changes so much during the 1st year of their lives. Many parents do the popular milestone shoots at newborn and 1 year old.

However, the in-between stage where they exhibits various expressions, curiosity and mannerisms are worth preserving.

When they learn how to sit up around the 6-9 months, they tend to push towards the next milestone of crawling instead of going backwards to being on the tummy for long.

So, how long do parents want to procrastinate before you miss capturing this milestone again? They won’t sit still for long once pass this milestone:)

Scroll down to view some of the images I did for this baby on their best 6-9 months old…

Hart was a dream to work with! All those other reviews on how good he is with children were certainly not exaggerated (if anything perhaps understated!) He really does have a lot of chemistry with children and managed to get some great shots of my usually impossible to sit still toddler. Would highly recommend him and will definitely be back. Hart was also very flexible with regards to timing and location – which was very much appreciated.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the photoshoot session with Hart! Hart made us feel really at home and my daughters had lots of fun at the studio! I’m very pleased with the moments he has captured for us and we will be back for more shoots in the future!

Family Shoot at Marina Bay – Indoor & Outdoor

One of the beauty of having the family portrait shoot done at Marina Bay is the appeal of the beautiful Marina Bay area with the ultra modern cityscape, The urban look to the image as well as the comfort of aircon inside the mall. This give you the outdoor and indoor in the same location.

It was Christmas and there are lots of amazing display and light but even without the festive, Marina Bay looks amazing…

This is the second shoot with Joanne’s family and it was a very relaxing and fun experience…

As a photographer, we also need to conduct ourselves in a manner that don’t cause much public nuisance so we make the work of security guard a lot easier… respect others and others will do the same.

Give us a call 8858 0088 and have a chat to see what we can help your family in getting the best images…

Home maternity photography at East Coast with Trina

“I think this is the first / last child” is the word that I heard often when people come to book my maternity photography session. I felt privileged to be included in client’s important milestone.

Trina lives in a beautiful home with very eclectic collection of artwork and furnishing. Collection that says so much about her and her family. The boldness in declaring “I AM” an unique individual and I appreciate that.

It challenge me to create images that portray them as family and their home. I use a lot of lighting nowadays in a home shoot because I feel that it gives me the control in lighting of inside the house. There are so many places that I love but lighting might not always ideal. With control lighting, everything become possible.

My idea in using lighting is to emulate what you see  as lighting at their home… so it still gives the same “feel” to it, the only different will be the quality and control of the lighting.
